Beloved and gentle husband, daddy, son, brother, friend, co-worker and neighbor who battled brain cancer
-- a glioblastoma in the brain stem that we call Spot. That Damm Spot was released with Steve's peaceful passing on September 7, 2009.

Smooth night
Steve began his second round of chemotherapy last night. He slept well and experienced no nausea, even on the doubled dose.
Hi Steve and Tyra, my name is Dan Deans, and I am a good friend of Jim's from Houston, but currently living in the Washington DC area. We want you to know that we (my wife Cathy and I, as well as many members of my family that know "Uncle Jim") have been praying for Steve and for his rapid healing and comfort. God is able to do immearsurably more than we can ever ask or imagine (Eph 3: 20-21), and we as selfishly asking Him to eliminate this cancer from Steve's body, and to make Steve whole and well again. God will get the glory from this situation; we are blessed by your positive attititude and example. Please keep that and keep going to God for strength and courage, He will give it to you. We are continuing to pray!
Dan and Cathy Deans and family (all of Jim's "nieces and nephews, Kayleigh, Paige, Collin and Jonathan)
I'm so glad he had a good night. Steve, we love you!
