I just wanted to share some kindness I helped orchestrate yesterday with you. All students deserve to feel seen and valued in the books in our school libraries. I am fighting through positivity to defend access to information. Check my Twitter feed for hundreds of tweets about some great books. ❤️‍🔥

I found three beautiful painted rocks outside Hosp this morning! 😍 I left them where they were to bring joy to all that see them.

The Smith’s honored Steve with a donation to Refresh Frisco.

Damms in Frisco:

We've been spending time creating art -- 53 painted rocks that we scattered around the neighborhood, paintings, embroidery. We baked cowboy cookies (Steve's favorite) to share. I shared some gently loved books. I've been tipping extra generously. And we've been soaking up all the extra love given to us — coffee, cookies, gift cards, a lovely bag.

Just wanted you to know how much your kindness project honoring Your beloved husband means to me. I am honored to participate this year with donations to Refresh Frisco, north Texas food bank, and a generous tip for my serviceman today! I told him about Steve’s story and your mission to spread kindness in his honor and he was so moved. My heart was happy today because of you.

53 Acts of Kindness (4)

Haley in Boeschepe, France:

Best day ever. I just love hearing Steve Damm’s name said by people in my tiny town of Boeschepe, France! I dropped off three flower arrangements to our local nursing home and asked the director to give them to three residents of her choice. We chatted about Steve, Tyra, and their amazing children, and what kind of person he was. She told me she had already thought of two of her funniest residents and one who is still quite active to give them to. The staff was so touched by Steve’s legacy and story and said nothing like that had ever happened there. I was crying by the end! It was such a beautiful exchange. ❤️❤️❤️

This is such a beautiful way to spread the love and remember Steve’s life every year! #dammkind

Did something #dammkind today to honor the memory of someone I prayed for long before I met his sweet wife Tyra Damm. I am so glad that I now know Tyra and get to work with her.
Bought a friend of mine a piece of pie, then doubled my check to tip the staff. I shared Steve’s story with them and they were so touched they brought me an extra piece of pie to take home.

Nancy in Dallas:

Tyra Damm, I asked this sweet checkout person at Tom Thumb her favorite candy to give to a child, then bought the candy, gave it to her with a Charlie Takes His Shot book and the Damm Kind card. I told her this is how we celebrate your husband Steve's birthday, with acts of kindness. Then I asked her name. I was a little startled when she said: Angel. I hope that makes your angel smile. #dammkind

Honored to have known, loved, and been loved by our sweetheart of a man, Steve Damm. Our friend Matt Anthony was #DammKind today! ❤️
Every November 4th, people around the country honor Steve Damm by performing random acts of kindness. Steve would have turned 53 today but his life was cut short due to brain cancer. His legacy still lives on through organizations like Brains for the Cure and people like Matt spreading kindness on his birthday.
Today was filled with happy customers finding out their drinks had already been paid for and our Hyde Park baristas joyfully receiving a generous tip. We are grateful for Matt and everyone else who is paying it forward, how are you being #DammKind today?
